The Ecumene as a Relational Graph
Two honest readings of the same eighteen nodes. The default kindred spine pins Eelam-Jaffna at the centre and treats post-1983 refugee flows, remittance corridors, kindred associations and memory- custodian links as the live civilisational network. The indenture spine drops the pin and lets the 19th-century colonial shipping ledger speak for itself — it pulls Tamil Nadu to the centre because Madras Presidency was the port of departure for indenture and Chettiar networks. Both are true. Neither is sufficient on its own.

SpineCentre pinned to Eelam · Jaffna
Why two spines? A single degree-ranked graph would put Tamil Nadu at the centre by default — not because TLTE's spine is Tamil Nadu, but because the 19th-century colonial shipping ledger (Mauritius, Réunion, Natal, Fiji, Guyana, Trinidad, Malaya) recorded ports of departure from Madras Presidency. Eelam's translocal kinship is mostly post-1983 — fewer edges, civilisationally heavier per edge. Toggling between the two views keeps the historic record honest and keeps the civilisational claim legible. Neither view aggregates, ranks or forecasts.
