- The removal is confirmed by several outlets. The legal basis rests only on the police's own statement: action "after police reported the relevant facts to court following a complaint", "under provisions of the Penal Code to maintain public order". Open question, asked in public: which court, what case number, whether a judge signed an order, and which section. No claim is made about who gave the order. Court history only: 2018 a Jaffna court refused a ban; 2021 a court granted one; 2024 police again sought bans; 2026 loudspeakers seized, then the statue removed. Read as memory and the right to gather. No officer or complainant is named.
