EU GSP+ — Sri Lanka reapplication window under the 2027 regulation

European Commission · DG TRADE / Government of Sri Lanka · Trade and Economic Security, European Commission
tlte-cite:eu-gsp-reapplication-2026
Editorial gloss

The new EU GSP Regulation enters into application on 1 January 2027. All current GSP+ beneficiaries — including Sri Lanka — must reapply and re-demonstrate ratification and effective implementation of the 27 listed international conventions on human rights, labour, environment, and good governance. The reapplication and re-assessment process is the highest-leverage civil-society engagement window of the cycle. TLTE's GSP+ Compliance Desk is the civic-compliance witness to this re-assessment — citation-only, never calling for withdrawal, never framing apparel workers as adversaries. Cooperation with UN HRC mandates (currently res. 60/1) is one of the implementation tests.
