EU GSP+ Compliance · Sri Lanka — MEP fork
ஐரோப்பிய நாடாளுமன்றம் — வர்த்தக இணக்கம்
Mirror of the UK MP pack adapted for Members of the European Parliament ahead of the 1 January 2027 new GSP Regulation. Supports compliance, never withdrawal. Adds Eastern Muslim and up-country labour anchors so the file is multi-community by construction.
- · MEPs (INTA, DROI, AFET)
- · European External Action Service
- · European Commission DG TRADE
- · EU national delegations
- · Brussels-based diaspora civil society
- · INTA written questions on Sri Lanka's standing against the 27 GSP+ conventions under the new regulation (in force 1 Jan 2027)
- · DROI hearings on OHCHR A/HRC/60/21 and the surveillance apparatus finding
- · AFET draft resolutions on Sri Lanka — successor to 2021/2748(RSP)
- · EEAS structured civil-society engagement channel briefings
- · DG TRADE monitoring-mission preparation
The MEP fork exists because the 2027 cycle is European, not British. The UK is a third country to GSP+. This pack lets diaspora MEPs in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Ireland carry the same compliance file — verbatim and with the same multi-community guardrails — into Brussels.
Cited Tier-A evidence is open and unresolved. UK is a co-sponsor of UN HRC accountability resolutions but implementation is uneven. Statements honour memory; evidence remains under-actioned.
Statements are backed by structured packs. Each anniversary produces tabled PQs, FCDO follow-ups, and a tracked answer. Memory becomes evidence; evidence becomes policy; policy becomes repair.

- · Always cite the April–May 2025 monitoring mission outcome honestly: no withdrawal triggered.
- · Always pair every Tamil-specific labour citation with at least one Eastern Muslim and one up-country labour citation.
