How this organ came to exist

1 · The origin brief

A twelve-point research prompt was set: "Eelam as a Laboratory of Modern Conflict — international experiments, military innovations, and systems tested during the Eelam War." The prompt named international suppliers, state doctrines, non-state innovations, and asked the archive to grade every finding and to hold every attribution gap open.

2 · Five parallel research sweeps

• International arms & technology suppliers, and Sri Lanka's north-east as a testbed for UAV and naval counter-adaptation doctrines.
• LTTE innovations and counter-innovations, paired with the ethical cost (child recruitment record, suicide tactics).
• Anti-LTTE Tamil political-military organisations (TELO, EPRLF, PLOTE, EROS, EPDP, TMVP-Karuna) and the state instrumentalisation pattern.
• Muslim political trajectory (1990 Northern expulsion) and Malaiyaha war-era condition.
• Self-determination doctrine — ICCPR, ICJ Chagos, ICJ Kosovo, Quebec Reference, carence de souveraineté.

3 · The Three-Body Attribution Cluster

A follow-up sweep produced the cluster the Laboratory now flags as its flagship: the North-East Provincial Council's 1 March 1990 unilateral declaration, the 19 June 1990 assassination of EPRLF general secretary K. Padmanabha and thirteen others in Chennai, and the 21 May 1991 assassination of Rajiv Gandhi at Sriperumbudur — followed by the post-1991 RAW pivot. This twelve-month arc is what elevated the organ from "war museum" to "attribution laboratory".

4 · Why now

The archive has moved from adding pages to adding organs that correct structural distortions. The single largest distortion left in the international record is the LTTE-monoculture reading of Tamil politics. The Laboratory dismantles that reading without dismantling the self-determination case — because the self-determination case does not depend on any one armed group's conduct.
